Sukhoi SuperJet-100 (SSJ), the first plane designed in Russia after collapse of Soviet Union, took off in the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur last Monday, six months after the planned date. Next day Sergei Ivanov, the deputy prime minister, stated that the supplies of the new airliner to the companies would have started by the end of the year.

Parade Or Battle?
The Black Sea Fleet seems to be going to have problems with parade again. This time the event is fixed for the last Sunday of July when the Day of Russian Naval Forces is celebrated traditionally. On Tuesday the head of press office of Ukrainian foreign ministry Vasily Kirilich stated that the parade must be arranged with the country’s management three months before the venue. And that has not been done yet. So the event opportunity is in doubt.

Elections to the Georgian parliament were featured with flow of information about attempts of falsification. Just before the eyes of a Novaya Gazeta correspondent the oppositional activists caught a man with a forged ID, in one of the central district of Tbilisi. Things are even worse in the regions. By midday there had been about 40 scuffles reported to happen at the polling stations. Gerontiy Kazia, the active member and propagandist for the United Opposition, was shot on his way to the polling station in Zalendjikhsky district in the western Georgia.

Last week the ministry of economic development let know that the government is not going to struggle with inflation. Instead, it is disposed to concentrate on another task – struggling with its consequences through distribution of compensations to poor groups of population. What is more important for the new cabinet is increase of investments into economy. And let others, the Central bank in particular, carry on struggle with inflation.

The world had not had such a set of economic troubles similar to that we dealt with in 2008. The collapse of the US mortgage market last summer caused the economic decline and downfall of the mortgage pyramid of the Wall Street. The global rise in price of credits, engendered by financial crisis, and the oil prices going up boost the inflation. The gap between the world demand and supply of the food led not only its price going up but also to revolts of the hungry in the poor countries. The tangle of the crisis occurrences is getting so large-scaled that even the smartest experts cannot predict exactly the future of the world economy. And it’s in such distempered times that Russia is hurried to enter the WTO.
