Dmitry Medvedev has given a negative opinion to the bill about media proposed by a member of United Party, ex-spokesperson of the pro-Kremlin’s movement “Nashi” Robert Shlegel. The project was approved in the first reading in the State Duma on 25 April. Reminding, the proposed amendments allowed closing down a media entity for slaughter, while the current legislation implies the criminal liability for it.

Last week the units and special machinery of the Railroad Forces without armaments were brought to Abkhazia. According to official statement by the Russian defense ministry, that was done with the decision by the Russian President in relation to appeal by the Abkhazian government asking for humanitarian aid and “organization of restoring the transport facilities and infrastructure”.

Whatever Putin and Medvedev said, there was no doubt that transfer of Putin to the Prime Minister’s chair would turn on the process of pulling the powers towards the White House. Now it has begun: the head of the President’s Administration Sergei Naryshkin has called to changing the Constitution with the purpose of strengthening the role of the government. So far high ranking officials have not dared to make such proposals.

Teips Have Chosen Their President
12 days. Such was duration of a hunger strike by 6 citizens of Ingushetia arrested for taking part in the meeting held in Nazran 26 January. Reminding, that action of protest against out-of-court executions and kidnappings in the republic was dispersed ruthlessly by Ingush OMON. Tens of people, including journalists from central and regional media, got detained then.
