Nano-party
On 15 November 2008, SPS, the party with 15-year history (counting it from “Demvybor Rossii”, fittingly, “Democratic choice of Russia”) will be dissolved under proposal of its own federal political council. And on 16 November a new party will be constructed on the basis of its fragments, the party that still has no name and is referred to as “project”. It is going to be an amalgamation of three party structures – SPS, DPR and Civil Force. This will be an important stage in the realization of “Surkov’s plan” for further reduction of number of parties in the country. At a recent working meeting of the leadership of United Russia he said that”four parties would do”, and so the “unnecessary” parties got doomed for dissolution.

Nature Wouldn’t Stand The Olympic Impact
The members of Ecological Watch for the North Caucasus, the International Social-Ecological Union and Sochi’s branch of the Russian Geographic Society have sent a letter to Vladimir Putin where they point out that 11 future Olympic facilities “are unacceptable in terms of ecology and do not meet the requirements by the Russian law”. Ecologists are worried about negligence towards the status of the Caucasian Reserve, Sochi’s national park and Sochi’s wildlife preserve. The general plan of development implies construction of about ten automobile and railroad routes on those territories, also construction of two ports and reconstruction of the take-off and landing strip.

The Kremlin To Prepare A “Kolchuga” Case on Yushchenko
Arms-dealing scandal may be used by Moscow for discrediting the Ukrainian President. In 2002 a sensational audio tape, made by the security guard Nikolai Melnichenko in the office of that-time Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, burned up the world of news. On that tape, Leonid Kuchma discussed with Valery Maleev, the director of Ukrspezexport a question of selling opportunities of “Kolchuga” radars to Iraq. While the tape was mentioned only in relation to murder of a journalist Gongadze, no one wanted to check its authenticity. However, as soon as Kuchma began to speak there about Saddam Hussein, the experts from the US National Security Agency proved immediately the tape was authentic. After that, Kuchma underwent international obstruction.
