Two last weeks have looked like Days of Ukraine in Brussels. Today President Viktor Yushchenko is expected to appear in the Brussels’s Hilton at the meeting of the leaders of the right-wing parties of the EU. Such meetings are held before the sessions of the EU Committees. Ukraine is not an EU member and so Yushchenko is not taking part in the summit itself. But he is going to take this opportunity to announce again about the “European” choice by his country.   

Yulia Timoshenko has visited Brussels with the same statement. And she did it twice: at the end of the last week and at the beginning of this week. She talked not only to officials, but also to businessmen, journalists and scholars. Her main task was to “sell” Ukrainian economy to European investors.  

“They say, Ukraine flirts with the West and cooperates with Russia” supposed Mrs. Timoshenko admitting that “pre-orange” leadership did it exactly that way, taking profits out of it. But after 2004 it was no flirt, but real integration into Europe. As for Russia, the or-question is not correct. “It’s equal to asking a child which of the two parents it loves more”.  

The European colleagues kept silence about Ukraine being accepted to the EU. In the mean time, they praised the reformatory course by the country.
