Award after Gerd Buzerius is presented annually by the Zeit fund jointly with Norwegian Fund named Freedom of Speech. This year Viktoria Ivleva, our permanent author is one of the laureates. She was nominated by Norwegian Union of Journalists and Norwegian Pen-club.   

An official statement of awarding the prize to Viktoria Ivleva says that her international reportages and photos made in various parts of the world – Chernobyl, Azerbaijan, Uganda and Rwanda – are indicative of the brave and courageous informing.  
Other laureates of the Free Press of Eastern Europe Award after Gerd Buzerius: The New Times magazine, west Siberian weekly newspaper “Moi gorod bez zenzury” (fittingly, My Town Without Censorship), Rauf Mirkadyrov, political observer from Baku, Elena Larionova, a journalist from Murmansk, Byelorussian newspaper “Gazeta Slonimskaya”, Minsk internet-portal “Ezhednevnik”.   

The awarding ceremony will be held 19 May in Hamburg’s town hall.
